When John Sigmund (Elijah Haywood) discovers that his father Ezra (Jon Fortmiller) is bailing on a backpacking trip they have planned for months, his emotions lead him astray and test his survival skills. Join John as he stumbles through the Rocky Mountains to find his way home and back into a right relationship with his father.

The Cast
Elijah Haywood
as John Sigmund
Elijah started acting in Middle school and enjoyed working on True North and learning from the cast and the crew. He is currently pursuing a degree at the Colorado Film School.
Jon Fortmiller
as Ezra Sigmund
Jon Fortmiller thoroughly enjoyed working with the kind and knowledgeable cast and crew of True North. He has studied and performed with Denver Center for the Performing Arts Education since 2007. Some of his favorite roles there were Prior Walter in Angels in America, Sir Robert Chiltern in An Ideal Husband, and Skelly Manor in The Rimers of Eldritch. He writes, performs and produces plays for Gray Matters Theater, including playing Austin in True West, and Bernard in A Number. Jon is also a freelance graphic designer, but for his full time “day job,” he loves teaching art at Kent Denver School and has done so for over 20 years.
Louie DeAnello
as Aaron Long
Louie started his acting career at 10 months old for Walt Disney Studios in Baby Einsteins. Since then he's been a part of many commercials including a national spot for Boston Market. He is currently in pre-production for a lead role in "When Angels Fear" A short film produced by WAF Productions. He would love to thank the producers, cast, and crew for an amazing and wonderfully memorable experience on True North! He's Represented by Big Fish Talent Agency in Denver, CO.
Behind the Scenes
Take a peak behind the scenes of True North with the cast and crew that made it possible. We filmed both on a stage and on location in and around Evergreen, CO. The camera of choice is the Canon C300mkiii with DZO Film Cine Lenses and we used almost exclusively Aputure Lighting.
